2009-2010

Our focus this year is Administrative Council … Better Together. It is my hope that this year will be one of sharing and tremendous professional growth. As the largest NAEOP council, our members have combined experience totaling 1,920 years!

As an office professional in a central or district office, you automatically become a member of Administrative Council by joining or renewing your NAEOP membership. In addition to the tangible benefits NAEOP provides (see Membership page), you have access to a nationwide network of those who walk with you in this amazing profession.

Andrew Carnegie said, “Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results.” As we work better together in 2010, let us be mindful that we can only accomplish our goals if we work as a team. I will be relying on all members of the Administrative Council to work together to share our experiences, our knowledge and our friendship with colleagues that may or may not already be members of NAEOP. I hope to see an increase in camaraderie and membership in 2010!

During the 2009-2010 year, President Posey’s theme is ‘Shining Brightly, Touching Lives Around the World.’ Working together as a Council, we also have the opportunity to:

• Increase membership and member involvement by 5%
• Enhance communication using various mediums (email, listserv, newsletter, blog, etc.)
• Establish a library of high quality professional development activities and resources
• Encourage Council members to achieve Professional Standards Program (PSP) certification
• Recognize the success both in others and in ourselves
• Develop effective leaders to positively impact our environments
• Foster the sharing of best-practices to further develop professional prowess

As our profession is continuously evolving, establishing professional relationships with others is vital. I welcome the opportunity to hear from you and look forward to continuing with you on the journey to achieving professional excellence. Let’s all be the fuel that will help us reach uncommon results!

Wendy L. Heslink, CEOE
Administrative Council Chairman
