2011-2012 NAEOP
Administrative Council

“Change is the Opportunity for Growth”

As an office professional in a transportation, food service, central, business or district office, you automatically become a member of the Administrative Council by joining or renewing your NAEOP membership. In addition to the tangible benefits NAEOP provides (see Membership page) you have access to a nationwide network of those who walk with you on this amazing journey.

In the last twenty years we, as educational office professionals, have seen many changes in our country, our communities and in our offices. One of my former administrators once told me, “Wendy, change is an opportunity for growth. There’s a reason this is happening, and when it’s done, you’ll look back and see how much you’ve grown.” Change is the one constant in our lives. There are changes we look forward to and those we fear; however, one thing is for sure, things will not stay the same no matter how much we wish they would. We can despair that a change has come and assume things will be worse, or we can look with excitement at the new possibilities the change presents.

Our profession is continuously evolving. Change in our offices is inevitable. Let’s share our “change survival tips” with each other this year and celebrate how they have made us grow to be stronger, better, more efficient educational office professionals.

Administrative Council Member Goals for 2011-2012:

  • Recognize that as educational office professionals, consistent professional development is both necessary and valued
  • Develop responsible skills in handling changes within the workplace
  • Strive to develop a mental attitude that will bring peace and happiness
  • Initiate positive changes in our work and personal lives
  • Keep our energy and spirits high in order to prevent fatigue and worry
  • Focus on positive influences in our lives
  • Accept each others’ differences and be more open to learn from each other
  • Be willing to give some of ourselves in order to help others succeed
