Welcome to the High School/Career & Technical
Education Council Website. If you are a member of NAEOP and work
in a High School or Career & Technical Education office, you
are a member of this council. I would like to invite you to take
a few moments to acquaint yourself with the entire NAEOP website
to see what the association has to offer you. There are several
links to NAEOP publications that can help you in your role as
an Educational Office Professional.
THEME: NAEOP President, Allie Faye Matthews, has chosen “Seeing
the Best in You Emerge” as her theme for the 2011-2012
year. Being in a school office, change happens on a regular basis.
Students come and go, policies change and how we do things change
depending on new technology. If we resist change, life will pass
us by. By staying up on the changes and embracing them, we can
enjoy our jobs more and emerge a better person.
NAEOP can help us stay on top of new technology and practices
through our magazine the NES Connector, our newsletter Keeping
Affiliates Active and through conferences and institutes.
Each year I have been challenged to grow personally and professionally
through NAEOP and, in looking back, have enjoyed the challenges
presented to me.
I’d like to invite you to join us for our next annual conference
to be held in Costa Mesa, CA, July 9-13, 2012. NAEOP now has a
lay-away program for those who need to save up to attend. I would
encourage using it toward attending the conference. We will have
time on Friday, July 13th for our High School/Career and Technical
Education Council to get together and network. If you have any
suggestions for discussion topics, please let me know. This is
your council and I appreciate your ideas.
MEMBERSHIP: As a current member of NAEOP, you
are automatically a member of the council in your work and career
related area. There are currently 459 members of the High School/Career
& Technical Education Council. As a member of the High School/Career
& Technical Education Council, you will receive our council
newsletter on a quarterly basis. Again, I welcome your ideas and
suggestions for articles you are interested in or if you would
like to contribute to the newsletter. Please feel free to contact
me.
