shoeNorth Central Area

Serving:  Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin

Welcome to the North Central Area! As a newly formed Area, we are working on defining our purpose and processes, and invite you to join us on our journey. We look forward to new and exciting things coming from our area!

“Put Your Best Foot Forward with NAEOP” – Congratulations to Patricia Stelmach, 2015-2016 NAEOP President. Through Pat’s leadership, we will continue pursuing the belief of our founder, Louise Henderson Nelson, who believed every office professional should be afforded the opportunity to grow and to evolve. As we all put our best foot forward, we will share in our common purpose to grow personally and professionally in service to the association and the members.

NAEOP Board Liaison – As the North Central Area Director, I serve on the NAEOP Board of Directors as the liaison between NAEOP and the local and state associations within the North Central Area. If you have questions or concerns that need to be brought to the Board, please feel free to contact me at any time.

Affiliations and Advisory Council Chairman – For the 2015-2016 year, I will serve as the Affiliations and Advisory Council Chairman. In this role, I will work for the affiliated associations to keep them informed of how NAEOP can serve them and share news from associations through the quarterly Keeping Affiliates Active newsletter; insure all affiliated associations have the opportunity to have representation at the Annual Business meeting; and to provide affiliates an opportunity to broaden their horizons and strengthen both associations. If you are interested in serving on this committee, please contact me.

Membership in NAEOP means you have chosen to become a part of the only professional association dedicated to the growth and professional development of educational office professionals. If you are not currently a NAEOP member, I encourage you to join. By joining NAEOP and working in one of the states listed above, you are a North Central Area member! The NAEOP membership theme this year is: “Join. Connect. Thrive. It’s What We Do.” This is NAEOP in a nutshell. As a NAEOP member, you have joined other educational office professionals with whom you will connect, and you will thrive by growing personally and professionally from the various professional development opportunities offered to NAEOP members.

North Central Area Professional Development Day – The 2016 North Central Area Professional Development Day will be held April 22-23, 2016, in Rochester, Minnesota. Registration information will be posted on this webpage. This annual event is an opportunity to enhance your professional growth by attending workshops and classes on a variety of topics.

North Central Area Meeting – Our annual Area meeting is held during the NAEOP Annual Conference. During our meeting, we elect members to serve on NAEOP Standing Committees, as well as receive updates from each of the states represented. At our July 2015 meeting, we brainstormed ideas for the Area. A Google doc will be shared with all Area members so they can see the discussion that took place this past summer and have the opportunity to add their comments and ideas. A summary will be posted on this webpage.

Newsletter/Listserv – As your Area Director, I will send periodic updates to area members via electronic newsletters and listserv updates. If you’re a member from any of the states noted above and you do not receive these updates, please let me know.

Most importantly, this is YOUR association and YOUR thoughts, suggestions, ideas, recommendations, questions are all important to me. Please contact me at any time. I look forward to serving you as we work together for the benefit of NAEOP and our members.
