“NAEOP Stars Coast to Coast”
Welcome to the Southeast Area Website. I encourage each of you to take a few minutes to acquaint yourself with the NAEOP website and to see what our association has to offer its members. NAEOP provides its members many opportunities for professional and personal growth. As a member of the Southeast Area you will receive many benefits from the national office. As an active member of NAEOP, you will have the opportunity to network with other office professionals from across the United States.
The Southeast Area congratulates and joins our NAEOP president, Cathy Eberle, in “NAEOP Stars Coast to Coast.” Our membership is challenged by President Eberle to practice the 4 C’s (Communicate / Connect / Contact / Correspond) throughout the year! My goal this year is to Communicate/Connect/Contact and Correspond at some point with every member of the Southeast Area. I believe it is essential that we work together to make NAEOP a stronger association as we involve our stars coast to coast in the growth of our organization.
A few of the benefits you will receive with your membership in NAEOP are:
- Four issues of the association’s magazine, the NES Connector (three on-line and the conference issue printed and mailed)
- Keeping Affiliates Active e-newsletter
- Southeast Area e-newsletter
- Professional Standards Program
- Awards Program
- Student Scholarship Programs
- Networking Opportunities
The Southeast Area rotates among the member states to host our annual professional development seminar weekend each year. Those states not hosting are given responsibilities and assignments as we work together for the success of the program. Fifty to 100 members from the Southeast Area usually participate in both learning new skills and in networking with fellow members. The next Southeast Area Professional Development Seminar will be conducted in Cadiz, Kentucky in April 2014. Louisiana is currently scheduled to be the host for the 2015 event. Attending the weekend seminar will give participants the opportunity to earn PSP credit and network with other professionals.
A Southeast Area e-newsletter will be sent out four times a year.
The Southeast Area has affiliated with NAEOP which allowed us to have a delegate to the 2013 Advisory Council Meeting. Pat Stelmach, CEOE served as our Southeast Area delegate and gave a report at our area luncheon.
For more information about NAEOP or the Southeast Area, please contact me. It would be a privilege to work with you.
